El pasado 28 de febrero la alpinista tolosarra Edurne Pasabán recibió el galardón que la acredita como mejor deportista femenina española del año 2010 , de manos de la Reina Doña Sofía durante una ceremonia que tuvo lugar en el Palacio del Pardo.Edurne Pasabán ha sido premiada por convertirse en la primera mujer en ascender la cima de los 14 ochomiles, tras alcanzar la cumbre del Shisha Pangma el 17 de mayo de 2010. La coreana Miss Oh afirmaba ser la primera, pero posteriormente su cima del Kanchengjunga ha sido desacreditada, terminando ella por reconocer que no accedió exactamente hasta el lugar más alto del ochomil.
Para confirmar sin lugar a dudas sus 14, en 30 días Edurne y su equipo parten hacia el Everest con la intención de ascenderlo sin empleo de oxígeno artificial. Edurne ya consiguió esta cumbre, pero con botellas a la espalda, y ahora quiere atajar cualquier polémica que pudiera producirse al respecto.
On February 28th, Tolosa's alpinist Edurne Pasabán received the Award crediting her like the Best Spanish Sportwoman of year 2010, from the hands of the Queen of Spain, Doña Sofía, during a ceremony that took place in the Palace del Pardo.Edurne Pasabán has been awarded after becoming the first woman to climb all 14 8000-meter peaks in the world, after reaching the summit of the Shisha Pangma the 17 of May of 2010. The Korean Miss Oh affirmed initially to be the first of that summit, but later her Kanchengjunga summit was discredited, after she recognized not reaching the highest place of that 8000-meter peak.
In order to confirm her 14 without doubt, in 30 days Edurne and her team will start off for the Everest with the intention to climb it it without artificial oxygen aid. Edurne already reached this summit with oxygen bottles at back, and now she wants to stop any controversy that could take place on the matter.
